10ft Container Hire Sunshine Coast

The 10ft is the size you hire when a 20ft is more container than the job needs. It is three metres long, it takes a modest slab of driveway or yard, and it locks up as securely as anything twice its size. Bionic Storage hires 10ft shipping containers across the Sunshine Coast from our Landsborough yard, either delivered to your address or stored securely at our facility. This page covers the dimensions, what actually fits inside one, what the hire includes, what the truck needs to get it in, and the suburbs we deliver to.

Hiring a 10ft Container on the Sunshine Coast

A hired container is the simplest secure, weatherproof storage available. It locks, it keeps your gear out of the rain, sun and dust, and it goes back when you are finished. The 10ft is the compact end of that range, and it suits the jobs where space on site is the constraint rather than volume.

Bionic Storage hires 10ft, 20ft and 40ft containers in both standard and high cube. We are a local operator based at Landsborough, just off the Bruce Highway, which keeps delivery quick and affordable from Caloundra through to Noosa. You can hire short term between jobs or long term for ongoing storage, and the booking is a phone call.

Hire rates for a 10ft start at $120 per month with the container at your property, or $200 per month if it stays at our Landsborough yard, and all our prices include GST. Delivery and pickup are quoted separately based on distance and access. Those are real published figures, which is worth knowing up front, because most container hire on this coast is quoted case by case with no number on the page at all.

10ft Container Dimensions

The 10ft has a three metre external footprint, so it fits where a 20ft will not. The figures below are the working specifications for our hire stock.

10ft ContainerMeasurement
External length3050 mm
External width2440 mm
External height2590 mm (standard)
Internal length2800 mm
Internal width2330 mm
Internal height2350 mm
Door width2340 mm

High cube is available across the range. On a 10ft the external height lifts to around 2890 mm, which gives you the extra internal room without changing the footprint on your site. That matters if you are stacking, storing tall furniture, or fitting in something that would not otherwise clear the door.

What Fits in a 10ft Container

A 10ft holds the contents of a one to two bedroom unit, garden equipment, or a tradie’s tools and materials. Think of it as a single generous room rather than a whole house.

For a household, that is the practical size for a decluttering run, a unit’s worth of furniture during a renovation, or the overflow you cannot fit in the garage. For a trade, it is enough room for a tool fit-out with racking down one wall and floor space left for materials. For a business, it handles stock overflow, seasonal inventory or records without committing to a 20ft.

If you are weighing it up against the next size up, the 20ft holds roughly the contents of a two to three bedroom home or around ten standard pallets at single height. The 20ft shipping container page has the full specification if the 10ft is looking tight, and the 40ft covers a four to five

At Your Property or Stored at Our Yard

There are two ways to hire a 10ft from us, and the right one depends on whether you want the container at your place or ours.

Hired to your property, we deliver the container to your address and position it on a clear, level spot. You keep it for the term, load and access it whenever you like, and we collect it when you are finished. This is the option for construction sites, renovations, machinery storage and business overflow, where you need the container where the work is. The rate is $120 per month, with delivery and pickup quoted separately.

Stored at our yard, the container stays at our secure Landsborough facility and we look after it. You drive up during access hours and load or unload as needed. This suits anyone who does not want a steel box sitting at their address, or who is between properties and just needs somewhere safe for everything. The rate is $200 per month. We can also place a hired container at a family member or friend’s place at a discounted rate.

Either way the container is fully lockable and yours for the length of the hire.

What the Hire Includes

The hire includes a lockbox fitted to the container, full access to your container during the term, and a wind and watertight, ISO certified container. There is a 30 day minimum hire term, and past that the hire simply rolls month to month. Cancel with reasonable notice and we will book the pickup.

Transport is not part of the monthly hire fee. Delivery and pickup are quoted separately based on distance and site access, so ask for both when you enquire and you will have the full cost in front of you. A few other things also sit outside the standard hire: after-hours delivery, mid-term relocations, a return-trip fee if access fails on the delivery day, an end-of-hire clean if the container comes back dirty, and site preparation or ground bearing at your end.

What the Truck Needs on Site

This is the part most container companies leave off their website, and it is the part that decides whether your delivery goes smoothly or turns into a return trip.

Our tilt trays deliver containers up to 20ft in length, so a 10ft is comfortably within what a tilt tray can place. We also run a shipping container side loader, which unloads from the driver’s side of the truck with no tilting. The side loader is precise, but it is not a small-space solution. As a general guide it needs:

  • approximately 20 metres of clear length
  • approximately 7 metres of total operating width, including the container
  • a driveway width of at least approximately 3 metres
  • firm, dry and reasonably level ground
  • sufficient clear space for the stabiliser legs to operate safely

Whichever truck suits, the ground where the container lands needs to be firm, dry and reasonably level, and the truck needs room to get in, set down and get back out. Heavy vehicle access and load limits on the day follow the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator rules.

The simplest thing to do is tell us the driveway width, the clear length available and the ground surface when you enquire. We will tell you which truck suits and confirm the site will work before the delivery is booked, which is how you avoid the return-trip fee.

What the Truck Needs on Site

If you are storing the container with us rather than at your address, our Landsborough facility is a gated site with 24/7 CCTV back to base monitoring, sensor lights, secure fencing, a six foot gate with pin code access, and on-site caretakers.

Standard access is seven days a week, 365 days a year, from 5:00am to 7:00pm. Twenty four hour access can be provided in special circumstances by prior arrangement. We are open every public holiday except Christmas Day and Boxing Day. There is also a 7ft x 4ft caged courtesy trailer available free of charge to move your goods into your space on the day, and a $50 fee applies if you want to hire it to move goods out.

10ft Container Hire Across the Sunshine Coast

From our Landsborough base we deliver and hire containers right across the region, including Caloundra, Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, Buderim, Noosa, Nambour and Coolum. Because we run our own container transport out of the same yard, delivery and pickup stay quick and the transport cost stays sharp.

Why Hire a 10ft from Bionic Storage

We are a Sunshine Coast operator, not a national call centre. We publish our monthly rates including GST rather than making you request a quote to find out what a container costs. We hire the full range of 10ft, 20ft and 40ft containers in standard and high cube, we deliver on our own trucks, and we can store the container at our yard or place it at yours.

If you would rather buy than hire, we also sell new and used containers, and we are happy to talk through hire versus buy for your situation before you commit either way.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does 10ft container hire cost on the Sunshine Coast?

A 10ft is $120 per month with the container at your property, or $200 per month stored at our Landsborough yard, and all our prices include GST. Delivery and pickup are quoted separately based on distance and access. Get in touch and we will confirm the full figure.

How big is a 10ft container?

Externally it is 3050 mm long, 2440 mm wide and 2590 mm high in standard height. Internally you have 2800 mm of length, 2330 mm of width and 2350 mm of height, with a 2340 mm wide door. High cube lifts the external height to around 2890 mm without changing the footprint.

What fits in a 10ft container?

The contents of a one to two bedroom unit, garden equipment, or a tradie’s tools and materials. If you are moving a two to three bedroom home you want a 20ft instead.

Can you deliver a 10ft container to my site?

Yes. We deliver across our South East Queensland service area on our own trucks. The site needs firm, dry, reasonably level ground and room for the truck to get in and set down. Tell us your driveway width and the clear length available and we will confirm access before booking.

Is delivery included in the hire rate?

No. The monthly rate covers the container. Delivery and pickup are quoted separately based on distance and site access, and we will give you both figures together so there are no surprises.

Do you hire high cube 10ft containers?

Yes. High cube is available across the range, and on a 10ft it lifts the external height to around 2890 mm for extra internal room on the same footprint.
